Why rentfeed

The four questions that decide every listing.

Checking them by hand is the slog of renting. rentfeed answers all four on every new listing, before it reaches you.

Is there a problem with the place?

The photos and floorplan get read before you do. Box rooms and the other catches agents gloss over arrive flagged in red and amber.

Is it in your commutes?

Real door-to-door times, by public transport or bike, to up to four places in your week: work, gym, campus. Outside your limits means no alert.

Does it fit your budget and bedrooms?

Hard filters. A listing over your budget or short a bedroom never reaches you.

How do you enquire?

The agent’s phone number and a one-tap enquiry link arrive with the alert, so you can act while the listing is minutes old.

Renting safely

Only criminals rush you. We remove the rush.

Renters lost around £9 million to rental fraud in the UK last year, and nearly half the victims were aged 18 to 29. The classic scam is a deposit wired for a home that doesn’t exist, under pressure that it’ll be gone by tomorrow.

Every rentfeed alert comes from a monitored feed of listings published by real letting agents, and reaches you within minutes of going live, so speed stays on your side.

Figures from the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, 2024. We don’t handle deposits or referencing. Those checks are yours to make.

Four rules that beat almost every rental scam

  • Never pay to secure a home you haven’t seen. At minimum, ask for a live video viewing.
  • Your deposit must go into a government-approved protection scheme.
  • Check the agent belongs to a redress scheme. It takes two minutes.
  • Never pay by wire transfer. Real agents don’t ask.

Renting from abroad?

International students are targeted hardest, and fraud reports peak every September, right when housing gets arranged from overseas.

The maths

Settling is the expensive option.
